A Lee county man was arrested after a brawl broke out at the Eastside Firepit City Grill in Gulf Coast Town Center.
The fight involving at least 75 men erupted at the restaurant on Saturday. Security attempted to break up the brawl. As Lee County sheriff's deputies arrived the crowd exited the bar and continued to fight in the courtyard.
Upon seeing law enforcement, deputies said the crowd began to disperse. During that time, Thomas Lee Giddens, 24, of North Fort Myers, got into an altercation with a security officer.
The officer says Giddens struck him in the face as he attempted to help break up the hostile crowd. The altercation escalated and the security officer attempted to detain Giddens. Fearing for the safety of the officer, deputies fired a Taser to subdue Giddens, reports said.
Giddens is facing charges of disorderly intoxication, battery, and probation violation.
