In an unusual game, Marco Island Brewery and DaVinci’s tied, 11-11 in the City Men’s Softball League.

Here are the results in order of games played.

Joey’s Pizza, 16, Eli’s Contacting, 15

Joey’s was able to hold off Eli’s for the victory and stay hot on Cocomo’s heels for first place. Mike Buis and Steve Pahr each had two hits and a home run and Jimmy Stephenson added three hits for Joey’s. The Polanco’s Chris and Frank, led Eli’s. Chris with three hits and Frank with two home runs.

Sand Bar 16, Islander Pool, 1

Booby Natile, with three hits, including two home runs, Lee Vaderjagt, JP Nachef, three hits each and home runs from Jason Berning and Pat Maguire were too much for Islander Pool who couldn’t get anything going at the plate.

Marco Island Brewery, 11, DaVinci’s, 11

This game went eight full innings and still the tie couldn’t be broken with an extra Texas tiebreaker inning. The Brew, in a bold move, loaded up the bases by walking instead of pitching to DaVinci’s power hitters and was able to force the outs needed to keep this game a tie.

Cocomo’s, 11, Nacho Mama’s, 4

Cocomo’s stays in first place with its defeat of last-place Nacho’s

Team standings: Cocomo’s, 7-1, Joey’s Pizza, 7-2, DaVinci’s, 6-2-1, Sand Bar, 5-4, Marco Island Brewery, 3-5-1, Island Pool, 3-6, Eli’s Contracting, 2-6 and Nacho Mama’s, 1-8.

Stop by Winterberry Park on Thursday nights for some great softball.
