John Rosbottom, the band teacher at Golden Gate Middle School received the fifth Golden Apple handed out on Thursday.
Two more Collier teachers have received their Golden Apples.
Lisa Garby, an eighth-grade language arts teacher at Manatee Middle School, received her apple the day before her birthday.
"This is a wonderful gift," she said.
Kim Sweat, who teaches elementary students at New Beginnings - an alternative school, also received an apple.
Sweat said her apple was recognition for the team effort to help the students at the school have a second chance.
Jaime Hernandez, a multimedia design teacher at Immokalee Technical Center, also was honored today with a Golden Apple. It is the two-year-old Immokalee school's first Golden Apple.
Michelle Barreiro, a first-grade teacher at Corkscrew Elementary School in Golden Gate Estates, was the first Collier County teacher honored today with a Golden Apple.

The Education Foundation of Collier County will make six teachers' day today as they name them the Golden Apple Teachers. The organization is surprising the teachers in their classrooms with the award and a basket of apples, among other things.
The first apple was given out this morning to Michelle Barreiro, a teacher at Corkscrew Elementary School in Golden Gate Estates.
The Golden Apple teachers are chosen from 30 Teachers of Distinction, which were named late last year. In January and February, all of the Teachers of Distinction were observed by selection committee members. After the conclusion of the classroom observations, the selection committee interviewed all 30 Teachers of Distinction and chose the Golden Apple teachers.
The Golden Apple Teachers and the Teachers of Distinction will be recognized at the 21st Annual Golden Apple Teacher Recognition Program presented by the Suncoast for Kids Foundation May 3 at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts.
