NAPLES — Dozens of workers are hammering, digging, laying electrical wiring and preparing the interior of the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples for painting.
The Museum, which broke ground in the spring of 2009, is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2011.
The building is located inside the North Collier Regional Park and boasts large learning spaces and recreational areas, including an outdoor amphitheater, classrooms and libraries.
The building is undergoing its most drastic transformations this spring as many of the signature features of are installed. The building is being retrofitted with several green space initiatives, including a rainwater harvesting system and roof top gardens.
While some of the final funding is still being received this year and an exact date of completion has yet to be announced, all indications are that the museum will be completed this time next year.
