City Men’s Softball sees run-scoring binges

The top three teams kept their winning ways to stay atop the Marco Island Men’s Softball League.

Cocomo’s, 6-1 and Joey’s and DaVinci’s, each 6-2, won their games.

Games, in order of play include:

Sand Bar, 19, Marco Island Brewery, 8

Sand Bar got its record back to .500 with its victory over Marco Island Brewery, 19-8.

Jason Berning led Sand Bar with three hits, including two home runs. Captain Brian Kocak, back from an early-season injury, added two hits, including a home run.

The Brew was led by Tim Sunyong with three hits, including a home run. John LaCava and Chris Bowden also added home runs in the losing effort.

Joey’s, 26, Nacho Mama’s, 7

Joey’s stayed on its hot streak, defeating Nacho’s, 26-7. Steve Parr led Joey’s with three hits, including a home run. Steve Moore, Santo Gentile and Joe Lambino also added three hits each. Steve Hardy had three hits, including a home run for Nacho’s.

DaVinci’s 19, Eli Contracting, 7

DaVinci’s continued its winning ways, defeating Eli Contracting, 19-7.

Mike Radolvacki, Mike Graczyk and Scott McConnell Jr. all scored three runs for DaVinci’s.

Cocomo’s, 20 Islander Pool, 8

Cocomo’s rebounded from its only loss of the season to defeat Islander Pool, 20-8. Curt Witthoff, Neal Alberry, Mike Watkins and Pat Baldwin all had three hits, and Niels Stone added a home run.

Stop by Winterberry Park on Thursday nights for some great softball.
