Peaches Pepper has been packing piquant provisions, peppery olives and plentiful pickled produce into small, medium and large jars for the past 14 years and selling them throughout Florida and nationwide: This is her first season as a vendor in the Marco Island Farmers Market.

“I’m a native of north Florida and grew up in Pensacola and worked for corporations specializing in chemistry products,” said Peaches Pepper.

“I’ve had this business (Peaches Provisions) 14 years — it seemed like a logical transition and I find it very rewarding and creative to think of new ways to pack olives,” she related, explaining that a woman at one of the other markets told her how wonderful the Marco Island Farmers Market was and she decided to branch out and try it this season along with the one at the Promenade and the North Naples Green Market on Saturday.

“My products are my sole creations. No one thought of skewered olives in the jar until I started my business with “Ménage a Trois, three big olives on each skewer: triple stuffed with jalapeno, garlic and pimento and each skewer drenched in vermouth,” declared Pepper, noting her signature product was available in 6-, 18- and 40-ounce sizes. This best-selling item is equally popular with non-drinkers nationwide, she said, and customers love the Ménage a Trois product line so much they order the one gallon size online at PeachesProvisions.com.

In addition to her farmers markets and online ventures, the Peaches Provisions wholesale line is popular with upscale liquor stores and gourmet markets throughout Florida and across the nation. The unique Spanish Gordal colossal queen olives comprise 95 percent of the product line that also includes very popular Zesty Pickled Brussels Sprouts as well as perennially popular pickled okra, mushrooms and asparagus. Rounding out the five percent are Pepper’s three inimitably dubbed Bloody Mary mixes: Bootleg; Wake-up Crabby; and York Harbor; all tarted up with horseradish for traditionalists, or horseradish, crab, shrimp, or lobster and wasabi, both for seafood lovers respectively.

“We also do lovely gift packs suitable for any occasion such as birthdays, anniversaries or welcome hostess gifts that are tastefully wrapped in a beautiful presentation box that range in price from $19 to $30. So many people are entertaining guests at this time of year, any one of our other gift items that are practical but beautiful, like our olive spoons, would make a nice gift for someone special,” said Pepper.
