Bonita Springs man stumbles upon deputy to report stabbing

A Bonita Springs man was taken to a hospital Sunday evening after walking up to a deputy and showing him a stab wound.

According to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report:

A deputy was on a traffic stop on Old 41 Road when the 42-year-old man who didn’t speak English approached, unbuttoned his dress shirt and showed the deputy the stab wound just below his ribcage. While emergency responders treated the man, another man approached and said he witnessed the stabbing and took deputies to where it occurred.

The witness said he and the victim were at a friend’s house in the 26000 block of London Lane drinking beers in the back yard when two men, known to the victim and witness, went up to the victim, pushed him to the ground and he was stabbed.

Deputies found one of the men hiding in a shed in the yard. He was detained, but not arrested.

The report did not state whey the man was taken into custody, but not charged.

The victim’s condition was not immediately available Monday.
