Two 19-year-olds from Seminole, Fla., were jailed over the weekend after Florida Highway Patrol troopers stopped the pair for speeding and reported finding several kinds of drugs in their vehicle.
Alex Ryan Applefield, the driver, and Neal Alan Beauregard, the passenger, were both arrested Sunday afternoon after troopers reported clocking their vehicle at a speed of 106 mph. The pair were stopped near the I-75 southbound 108 mile marker, where the speed limit is 70 mph.
According to reports, the two teens told troopers they were travelling to Boca Raton to visit friends. Inside the trunk of their car, troopers reported finding alprazolam (the generic form of Xanax), ecstasy and marijuana. Both men were charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, and Beauregard was additionally charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
