Vandals break into house, cause between $30K and $50K in damage

A San Carlos Park family returned home early Wednesday only to discover between $30,000 and $50,000 in damage done to the interior and some televisions stolen.

According to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report:

The family, who lives in the 8200 block of Sandpiper Road, left home about 5 p.m. Tuesday and returned about 2 a.m.

When they entered the house, the damage was immediately noticed. Holes were punched in the walls, pictures and furnishings were destroyed and light fixtures broken.

Three television sets with a value of nearly $2,000 were reported stolen.
