Summer season won’t last forever and neither will the super specials served up now at splendid Marco Island restaurants on Bald Eagle Drive in the recently recognized Olde Marco Historic Village established in 1870.
The Old Marco Pub & Restaurant is featuring nightly $12.95 specials during regular summer hours, 4 p.m. to close, Wednesday through Saturday. The specials du jour vary nightly and may include some of the items in the restaurant’s regular house specials menu such as grilled salmon, Chef’s Special Pub Salad that can be beefed up with the usual suspects or even the popular Parmigiana Trio.
Adventurous diners can opt for pleasant specials surprises while picky eaters may call 642-9700 for that evening’s selections, suggests owner Susan Ackerson, who incidentally moonlights as broker/owner of Anchor Real Estate. The reason for divulging this tasty tidbit is a “Summertime Special 10 percent coupon off your entire check” that can be retrieved in the restaurant’s ad next to Susan’s Anchor Real Estate ad in the Marco Real Estate Guide.
That having been said, at the high end of the restaurant’s menu is a grilled filet mignon that is also available tarted up with any one of the classic steak trio of seasonings: Poivre, Vino Rosso or Moutarde. But why bother with embellishments on a generous cut of prime tenderloin that is perfection on a plate? Children’s menu is available, and happy hour is from 4 to 6 p.m. Specials include half-price house wines by Beringer or Fox Brook ($3), and Gabbiano ($3.50), while bottle and draught domestic beer are half price ($1.50).
Old Marco Pub & Restaurant, 1105 Bald Eagle Drive. Reservations are accepted; please call 642-9700. Summer hours 4 p.m. until close, Wednesday through Saturday, closed Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
