— A North Naples woman is accused of attacking a child and attempting to drown him at the Summer Wind apartments community pool.

Theresa Kathleen Tebbe, 40, of the 2800 block of Pine Run Road, North Naples, was arrested Saturday by Collier deputies at home.

A witness told deputies that several children were playing in the pool, when one boy pushed Tebbe’s son causing him to complain about his foot being hurt.

Tebbe then proceeded to jump in the pool, landing on top of the boy who pushed her son. She grabbed the boy, wrapped her arms around him and then submerged him under the water, according to reports.

The witness said that the boy was gasping for air as Tebbe continued to pull him under the water. She also said Tebbe was yelling, “If you ever touch my son again I will kill you.”

According to reports, in the process of being pulled under the water, the young boy hit his head on the side of the pool resulting in a visible wound on his forehead.

Tebbe told deputies she jumped in the pool but denied touching the boy.

She faces a felony charge of child abuse without great harm.
