LEHIGH ACRES — A Lehigh Acres man whose girlfriend of six months says he fired a shot at her while children were in the house was found by Lee deputies Wednesday as he sat on the toilet.
William Allen Raznoff, 48, of the 1600 of Oak Avenue, was arrested and charged with firing a weapon into a dwelling; possession of an illegal gun; resisting a law enforcement officer without violence; illegal possession of a weapon by someone who has an active injunction; possession of methamphetamines with the intent to distribute; battery/domestic violence; possession of paraphernalia; possession of a controlled substance without a prescription; and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill.
According to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report:
A deputy arrived at the Oak Avenue address saw a truck with smashed out taillights crashed into the rear of a Honda Civic which had a rear window smashed out. A small child at a bedroom window told deputies to enter.
A woman came to the front door, said she’d been in an argument with Raznoff, and had her daughter call 911. She said her boyfriend “was coming down from Roxies,” and he’d “torn up” the house but denied she’d been hit or that guns were involved, according to the report.
Deputies found Raznoff “in the master bath sitting on the toilet,” according to the report. When he came out, deputies found Xanax pills and cylinders with suspected methamphetamines in his pocket, the report said. He told deputies he was “having a bad day” and “it was no use talking to us because he was going to jail for all the dope he had anyway,” according to the report.
He got up from the chair he was in and fled through a wooded area, reaching a clearing where a deputy deployed a Taser, hitting him in the wrist and buttocks, according to the report. After he was placed in a patrol car, he twice tried to slip his handcuffed hands to the front and a deputy used pepper spray on him, the report said.
The Florida Department of Children and Family Services was notified.
