Update: Two suspects are in custody following the armed robbery of an ice cream store in Lee County on Friday. They are identified as Seth Foster, 18, of Fort Myers and Christopher Foster, 24, of Cape Coral.

Deputies said two masked men, both white, around 10:30 p.m. Friday entered Love Boat Ice Cream, 16229 San Carlos Blvd., Fort Myers. Deputies confirmed the two had entered the business and struck one of the employees with a firearm. He was not seriously injured. The victim was forced to open a safe and hand over the contents, as well as his own money. Several patrons were in the business at the time of the robbery. No one else was injured. The suspects fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Additional units arrived to the area including the Sheriff’s Office helicopter and K-9’s. A track of the suspects led behind Osaka Japanese Steakhouse where a suspicious person call was received several minutes after the robbery call describing similarly dressed and armed individuals. The two were not located.
Due to the nature of the crime, detectives with the Robbery Unit of the Sheriff’s Office responded to continue the investigation. Video surveillance was retrieved and the suspects are seen wearing long-sleeved blue shirts and long baggy shorts. One had white athletic shoes and the other black. Surveillance photos are attached.
