DELTONA, Fla. (AP) — Officials say a 21-month-old girl drowned in backyard swimming pool at her Central Florida home.
Volusia County Sheriff's deputies say the child's parents and older sibling were home when Rocio Vazquez Naranjo wandered outside. When they realized she was missing about 7:40 p.m., they found her in the pool.
Officials say the parents pulled her from the pool and took her to a neighbor who tried to resuscitate her while they waited for rescue personnel to arrive.
The child was pronounced dead about an hour later at a hospital.
