Naples’ longtime engineering manager promoted.

Gregg Strakaluse was appointed to the position of the director of the city’s streets and storm water department, according to an e-mail from City Manager Bill Moss.

Strakaluse, 44, was hired as the engineering manager in 2006, and has more than 20 years of civil engineering experience in both the private and public sector.

“Greg works well with employees within the department, with other staff members, and most importantly, with Naples citizens and business,” Moss said in an email Tuesday to City Council. “He is innovative, a strategic thinker and a good supervisor.”

Moss said Strakaluse has been commended for his “calm approach to problem-solving.”

Strakaluse will replace Streets and Stormwater Ron Wallace, who resigned earlier this year.
