Man accused of threating to kill girfriend, pepper sprayed by deputies

A Golden Gate Estates man was pepper sprayed by deputies after being accused of threatening to kill his girlfriend.

Stephen Craig Page, 51, of the 2800 block of Sanborn Avenue, was arrested Tuesday by Collier deputies at home.

According to reports, Page’s girlfriend of 15 years said the altercation began when she asked him about helping her family with some repair work that needed to be done on a house.

She told deputies that he lost it and started calling her degrading names and grabbed her by the arms, pushing her up against a wall.

He then grabbed a phone, threw it against a wall and smashed a picture that was hanging, according to reports.

Page’s girlfriend told deputies that he then told her that he was going to kill her.

Deputies said when they arrived to the home, Page appeared to be intoxicated and swaying.

Page resisted arrest and attempted to walk away from deputies which resulted in him being taken to the ground and then pepper sprayed in the facial area, according to reports.

Page faces a charges of domestic battery and resisting law enforcement officer.
