Naples man dies after driving into water along Alligator Alley in Broward

A 36-year-old Naples man was killed Wednesday afternoon after authorities say he drove off a boat ramp and into the water along the Alligator Alley portion of Interstate 75 in Broward County.

At 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, Ricardo Hilaire was driving a 2000 Nissan Sentra in a recreational area parking lot near the 31.5 mile marker of Alligator Alley when, for unknown reasons, he drove onto a boat ramp and into the water, according to Florida Highway Patrol reports.

The Nissan came to rest upside down in the water. Hilaire was pronounced dead upon removal from the water.
