The Legislature’s plan is great — for a hall of fame for Florida military veterans.
Thank goodness Gov. Rick Scott stepped in to prevent a bad start.
The noble concept would have been diminished by plans to have 21 Florida governors, including Scott, be the first inductees.
Six of them fought for the Confederacy.
Scott correctly says a more diverse group that better represents Florida’s heritage of military duty and leadership is in order.
Better idea: Let the public know about all of this and ask for public nominations.
Just think of the past and present heroes who live in our own area.
