City offers summer tennis programs

In my youth I played baseball, football, basketball, soccer, tennis, track and field, and enjoyed competing and excelling in all sports that I participated in.

As a coach I see the players in my “City Kids Tennis” juniors program, tennis strokes and strategy improve and excel from a blend of their participation in other sports.

The City of Marco Island Parks and Recreation is providing a full spectrum of sports activities this summer. I recommend you let your child experience as many of these activities as possible.

I will be offering junior’s tennis at the Racquet Center all summer long, Monday through Friday for kids ages 4 and up. Players may attend classes on a daily or weekly basis. As always, my training includes a wide variety of developmental skills that will translate to all sports. Along with teaching the strokes of tennis, we will play USTA Quickstart Tennis, as well as fun and challenging games to let the players put the strokes they are learning to work in a competitive environment. The day on the courts will also include a round of Wally-Ball in the Racquetball room, and a healthy mid morning snack. Call 394-5454, or drop by the Racquet Center at 1275 San Marco Road for registration. Or call me directly at 450-6161.
