A swamp buggy caused a crash Friday when it moved off a sidewalk and onto a main road, Collier County sheriff's deputies say. The swamp buggy driver was arrested.
Veronique Rowland was driving her gray Toyota four-door east on Collier Boulevard when the swamp buggy, driven by Thomas Johns, 39, of the 6900 block of Johns Road, when the other vehicle came from her left to right without stopping, the report said.
Johns was driving his swamp buggy on the sidewalk, crossed over the road and crashed into her vehicle, hitting her car's front bumper.
The crash caused $650 worth of damage to Rowland's vehicle. Johns gave her $350 at the scene and agreed to pay the additional costs, the report said.
Johns was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended or revoked license as a habitual offender and driving with a suspended license-third or subsequent offense.
No injuries were reported.
