An East Naples man was arrested Thursday on nine felony burglary and grand theft charges, including the theft of three firearms. One of the guns, a Smith and Wesson .45, was discovered during the course of the investigation into Thursday morning's fatal shooting of 20-year-old Elmer Serrano.

Felix Ventura, 19, suffered a superficial gunshot wound in the same Naples Manor shooting but declined treatment.

The burglary and theft charges stem from incidents on June 20 and June 22, in which three Golden Gate Estates homeowners reported jewelry, musical instruments, and electronics stolen, in addition to the firearms.

According to police reports, Ventura is “associated” with the investigation into Thursday's shooting.

Early Thursday morning, Serrano was shot and killed at the 5300 block of Fleming Street in Naples Manor. Roland Marks, 45, of East Naples, was injured in the incident, drove to a nearby 7-11 and was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, according to police reports.
