Ian Randal Foster, 19, was charged with battery on a person older than 65 years old.

— A South Fort Myers teen was arrested Thursday afternoon accused of beating his grandfather while they were at a business.

Ian Randal Foster, 19, of the 14000 block of Aeries Way, was charged with battery on a person older than 65 years old.

According to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report:

Deputies went to the 11000 block of Metro Parkway and found the grandfather suffering from swelling around his eye, broken blood vessels in his eye and cuts above both eyes. He also had blood on his shirt.

Employees of the business said something was bothering the teen so they asked him about it. He began cursing and went outside. When the grandfather followed, he said, the teen pushed and hit him. Another employee intervened and tried to calm the teen.

The employee walked around outside with the teen. She then told him she was taking him back into the shop because of his actions and he would be going to jail. Foster said he understood. Deputies then arrested him.

The grandfather was not seriously injured.
