Lehigh Acres woman attacked, robbed in her own driveway

— A Lehigh Acres woman told deputies she was leaving for work early Thursday when a man grabbed her, tried to remove her pants and stole a fanny pack.

The woman, whose 35th birthday is today, said about 4:30 a.m. Thursday she was in the driveway of her Southwest Lehigh driveway when the man grabbed her, according to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report. He punched her in the face, head and body, knocking her to the ground.

He attempted to pull her pants down and was cursing her. He then took a fanny pack and fled.

The man is described as black, tall with a thin build, wearing a gray sweater or hoodie and his face was covered by a hat or hood.

The woman’s husband was in the house and did not see or hear anything, nor did a neighbor, according to the report. A canine tracked the man about two blocks away, but he was not found.
