ORLANDO — A Walt Disney World worker who had been hospitalized with a head injury following an accident at the Animal Kingdom theme park has died.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office says 52-year-old Russell Roscoe died Monday, a day after he was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with the head injury.
The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has opened an investigation.
Roscoe was working on an Animal Kingdom roller coaster that was temporarily closed for maintenance.
A colleague on a 911 call suggests that Roscoe may have gotten in the way of a moving vehicle.
