SAN CARLOS PARK — A San Carlos Park man was arrested Friday afternoon after an argument resulted in a traffic crash that sent a teen girl to the hospital.
Alain Hernandez, 22, of the 9100 block of Pineapple Road, was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving injury.
According to a Lee County Sheriff’s Office report:
Deputies were called Friday afternoon to Bartow Boulevard and Winter Haven Road in San Carlos Park. Dispatcher said a gray Acura hit two people and left.
Deputies learned two men arrived at the intersection, got out of the car and got into a physical dispute with Jesse Martinez, no age or address listed. The men got back into the car, backed into a concrete culvert and struck Martinez and the girl. The girl, whose name and age was not released because she is a minor, was taken to Gulf Coast Hospital for arm, neck and head injuries.
A witness who knows the driver of the car told deputies he lived in the 9100 block of Pineapple Road. Deputies saw the car, which had damage to the left rear and bumper and is registered to Hernandez. Deputies spoke to Hernandez at his house and he was arrested.
