The Bridge Deck Club of Naples, located in the Parish Hall of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Rattlesnake Hammock Road, is one of the oldest duplicate bridge clubs in Naples.
A small intimate club of friendly people, this club offers lessons for beginners and intermediate players on Monday at 9 am, on Wednesday at 9:30, a beginner to an advanced beginner course and Thursdays, a mini lesson before the 1 p.m. regular afternoon game.
Ron and Joy Schick, two of Naples premiere bridge teachers, conduct a lesson before the 299er and regular open game on Saturdays at 9:45.
This bridge club, however, is in need of an update, and is asking fellow bridge players to help purchase some of the newer electronic bridge software and scoring machines that are now on the market. The club should purchase a dealing machine, so it can pre-deal hands and provide hand records; it needs new boards and higher quality bridge supplies to enhance the enjoyment of playing at the club. The club has been struggling these past few years and is fighting back, and needs your help!
In order to make these improvements the Bridge Deck Club asks you to join their new 50/50 club and pledge monies to defray the costs of this new equipment. Each gift will be matched by the Bridge Deck Club from the operating revenue and if everyone helps, the club will be more enjoyable and more competitive with the other clubs in the area. These capital improvements are necessary, so make your check payable to Bridge Deck Club of Naples (50/50) Fund, and send it to 4915 Rattlesnake Hammock Road, P.O. Box 287, Naples, 34113.
Along with the Bridge Deck Club’s regular June 9-11, open sectional tournament, the club is adding a senior and non-life master silver point sectional, from April 13 to 15th. Do mark these dates on your calendar and come join the fun.
Congratulations to Kathleen Raney on achieving life master, Sarah Penn, silver life master, Charmaine Powers, gold life master, and William Boston, diamond life master.
