MARCO ISLAND — When Marco Island police responded to a call of a car overheating and on fire in an alley behind the McDonald’s, they arrived to find a 2000 gold Chevy completely engulfed in flames near a Dumpster, according to reports. A look on the other side of that trash bin revealed a red metal gas can, police said.
Fernando Martinez, 25, of the the 5300 block of Trammel Street in Naples Manor, was arrested by Marco Island police Saturday, accused of arson and using fake personal identification.
Identification inside a bag near the gas can named Martinez, who told police that both the Social Security card and resident alien identification card were fake.
The vehicle is owned by the father, Wenseslao Rocha, of his girlfriend, Graciela J. Rocha,
