LEE COUNTY — During Tuesday's meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners, the board requested and approved advertisement for a public hearing to amend the Lee County Parks and Recreation Ordinance, which was established in 2006. The ordinance would accommodate the sale, service and consumption of alcoholic beverages at the new Red Sox JetBlue Park, the Lee Sports Complex, the Lee County Civic Center, Terry Park and City of Palms Park.
The amended ordinance looks to clarify certain provisions that would reflect current policies and procedures pertaining to the use of alcohol on Lee County property.
The amended ordinance will also give authority to approve the use of alcohol on Lee County property parks for a variety of short-term events held throughout the year.
