Sunny day, fast fairways and greens, great day for scoring and that is what golfers did at the annual San Marco Catholic Church Knights of Columbus outing at Island Country Club on Saturday.

As it turned out the team of Gene Ilnicki, Dusty Johnson, Larry Paladino and Tee McCabe needed an eagle they scored in the best ball format to tally a 53, 19 under par.

They edged Dave Stonier, Mike Weigandt, Bob Dugan and Rob Pentico with a 54.

Other awards included: Men closest to the pin, Matt Bahr; Women closest to the pin, Jean Hawkes; Men longest drive, Kevin Morton; Women longest drive Chrissy Franklin.

Joe Granda, outing coordinator, said, “This golf tournament was the most successful one we have ever had, we raised over $23,000.”
