According to Lee County Sheriff's Office reports:

On April 19, Tommy Jock Lee, 48, told deputies someone stole four air conditioning units from China Palace Plaza, 17240 U.S. 41 South. They were valued at $10,000. A flashlight was left behind. Three days later, someone took three more units valued at $16,000.

After those thefts, Lee said he frequently checks the plaza and installed additional outside flood lights.

But on May 11, found two additional units valued at $6,400 missing. Then on Wednesday he discovered two more units valued at a total of $4,800 missing.

During the thefts, the culprits cut cooper tubing, took the condensors on the units and did other damage. They also turned the electrical breaker to the off position.

The rear of the building leads to a defunct housing area and the roadway is littered with trash, old furniture and other items.
