— A Marco Island woman is accused of forging and cashing her boss’s checks for a total of $14,245.40.

Desiree Dawn Sennie, 39, of the 70 block of South Heathwood Drive, Marco Island, was arrested Wednesday by Marco Island officers at the 50 block of Bald Eagle Drive.

According to a Marco Island Police Department report:

The owner of Sasso’s International Cuisine and Seafood reported that someone has forged and cashed 14 checks from her business, equaling a total of $14,245.40.

Officers discovered that the checks had been cashed to Sennie at the Kwik stop on Collier Boulevard.

The owner of the Kwik Stop stated he cashed the checks for her because he had known her for six months from coming into his store and cashing checks.

Sennie, who is the office manager bookkeeper of Sasso’s International Cuisine and Seafood, was arrested on felony charges of grand theft and uttering forged checks.
