IMMOKALEE — Authorities have captured a black bear spotted roaming through a populated area in Southwest Florida.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office reports that deputies and officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission caught the bear with tranquilizer darts on Monday.
Earlier in the day, started residents reported seeing the animal walking around downtown Immokalee.
The bear will eventually be released in a local preserve area.
