A 46-year-old East Naples man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday after pleading no contest to the attempted rape of a 7-year-old.

Eduardo Jaraleno, 46, was charged in 2008 with four counts of sexual battery after Collier County sheriff's deputies said he raped a girl several times between the ages of 6 and 10. He pleaded to the lesser charges, which occurred when he was 36 years old and the girl was 7.

The victim told her mother that Jaraleno sexually touched and raped her several times, holding her down. The victim told deputies Jaraleno threatened to harm her if she reported the abuse.

Jaraleno, a native of Mexico, also received 10 years of probation in addition to his prison sentence. He faces deportation following his prison sentence.
