NAPLES — Five people were hospitalized Sunday afternoon after a two-car crash in North Naples closed part of Airport-Pulling Road for about 45 minutes, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said.
Both drivers and a 16-year-old male were treated for minor injuries, while two other passengers were sent to NCH North Naples Hospital as a precaution, FHP Cpl. Andrew Close said.
Early reports indicated a 24-year-old female driving a Honda Accord ran a red light at Naples Boulevard while driving south on Airport-Pulling Road at about 12:20 p.m., hitting a Chevrolet Malibu as it turned left from Naples Boulevard, Close said.
The Accord had one passenger, a 4-month-old boy who wasn’t injured. A 48-year-old male was driving the Malibu, with a teenage male and female in the car.
The Accord had heavy front-end damage, while the Malibu was hit in the rear driver’s side panel.
Southbound traffic on Airport-Pulling Road was diverted between Naples Boulevard and Cougar Drive until about 1 p.m.
