— Newt Gingrich will be speaking at the Hilton Naples, 5111 U.S. 41 N., on Friday. The Naples Daily News and naplesnews.com will be there to cover the event in real time.

In the meeting, the Republican presidential candidate and former speaker of the House, will field questions from the audience about jobs, limited government and national security.

The event was originally scheduled to be in the community room of the Naples Daily News, but was moved to a larger venue on Wednesday.

After the public event, Gingrich will attend a private fund-raising reception in Grey Oaks at the home of Sam Saad Jr., the father of Naples City Councilman Sam Saad III. The minimum contribution is $1,000 to attend, according to invitations for the event.

"I've been involved with politics since I was an infant," Councilman Saad said Friday. "I like his ideas and I've been saying since Presidency 5 that it has to be Cain-Newt."
