Get into a German state of mind at Oktoberfest at MIYC

— The Marco Island Yacht Club is celebrating its 10 year anniversary. To start the new season, the club hosts the 6th Annual Marco Island Oktoberfest on Oct. 14, for its members and special guests.

The club arranged for an authentic 18 piece German band “Hafenkapelle” from Cape Coral to play at the event.

“We extend a special invitation to the general public, interested in joining the Yacht Club and all reciprocal clubs around Marco Island and Naples to join us at the start of the new season,” the club states in a press release.

Traditional Oktoberfest beers will be served.

All attendees will feast on fabulous traditional German buffet, which includes black forest chopped salad, German potato salad, schweinehaxen (braised pork shank), bratwurst and knackwurst, wiener schnitzel with spaetzle, traditional hasenpfeffer and more.

For dessert: Black forest cake, german cookies and pastries.

For reservation or more information contact the Marco Island Yacht Club at (239) 394-0199. Reservation deadline Oct. 11.
