— A Best Buy employee confessed to stealing over $1,000 in electronics after a manager caught him assisting in a theft of DVDs from the store.

A loss prevention manager for the Best Buy on Gulf Center Drive in Fort Myers told deputies that on October 4, employee Justin Handshoe opened the store and allowed his partner, Andrew Michael Williams, to enter the business. Williams, 29, and Handshoe, 27, live together on the 11300 block of Redbud Lane, Bonita Springs.

Williams is seen on camera selecting, concealing, and failing to pay for two "Grey’s Anatomy" DVD sets, reports said. According to the store manager, Handshoe moved the cameras at the doorway as Williams was exiting the business.

Reports state that Handshoe admitted both he and Williams removed the property without paying. Handshoe also admitted to loss prevention that he took a Cannon camera, two iPods, and a DVD case, totaling approximately $1,055, from the store about 18 months ago.

Williams was arrested at his home Thursday by Lee deputies and is facing charges of petit theft for the DVD sets. At this time, Handshoe is not facing criminal charges.
