Alligator attack victim remains in critical condition at Lee Memorial

Margaret Webb, the Copeland woman who was attacked by an alligator on Wednesday, remained in critical condition Friday night, according to a Lee Memorial spokeswoman.

Webb, 90, was the victim of an unprovoked attack by an 8-foot alligator, who bit her leg. A portion of her leg has been amputated.

Victims of alligator attacks face a risk of infection because of the concentrated amount of bacteria in the reptile’s mouth.
