More thefts reported at Red Sox spring training facility

— Additional equipment has been reported stolen from the new Boston Red Sox spring training facility.

Coburn Davis, a supervisor for Leo’s Masonry of Naples, told deputies that sometime between Sept. 3 and Sept. 6, someone entered the gated construction site at Jet Blue Stadium in Fort Myers and pried open the clasp lock on his enclosed trailer.

Davis says a Partner brand ring saw, valued at $3,000 is missing. It was removed from its wooden case. The case and some other saws of larger size were left in the trailer.

This theft is in addition to reports made Tuesday, in which deputies say over $37,000 in equipment was stolen from two other business trailers at the same site.

It is believed that the thieves gained entry to the site by pushing down a four foot fence located at the northeast side of the compound, possibly from the area of Gateway Charter Elementary School, according to reports.

Deputies say security is available at the site on a 12-hour shift. A recommendation for 24-hour watch has been made.
