Deputies on lookout for man who robbed 7-Eleven at gunpoint

Collier County authorities are on the lookout for a man who they say robbed a North Naples 7-Eleven clerk at gunpoint Tuesday night.

Around 8:15 p.m., the man entered the store at 3600 U.S. 41 North and demanded money from the clerk, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kristi Lester said. When the clerk did not immediately respond, the man lifted his shirt to show what appeared to be a gun tucked in the waistband of his pants, Lester said.

The clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash, and the man ran from the store heading north on U.S. 41.

Investigators are working to see if there is surveillance video from the store. Only the clerk and the suspect were present for the robbery, Lester said.

The suspect is described by investigators as a white man in his 20s or early 30s with a medium build, about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a black cap.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Collier County Sheriff's Office at 239-252-9300, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477).
