A North Naples man is accused of cutting his ex-girlfriend's throat.
Yariody Banos-Rodriguez, 22, of the 5500 block of Jonquil Lane, is facing charges of stalking, aggravated battery, and probation violation.
The victim told Cape Coral police that she arrived home Saturday and Banos attacked her, slitting her throat with a silver pocket knife. He told her that if she was with someone else he would kill her, reports said.
Banos pulled her hair and held the knife to her neck again, reports said. The confrontation lasted approximately 30 minutes, as she begged him to let her go. He would tell her he could not be without her, according to arrest reports.
The victim's aunt opened the door and Banos took off. The victim said she fears for her and her children's lives. She refused medical attention for the two-inch cut on her throat, according to reports.
Banos was arrested for trespassing at the victim's home on December 4. She showed police letters he has been leaving on her doorstep every day, in which he says he has been watching her. The victim said she has seen him at different locations, including family functions and her gym.
Police say they arrested Banos as he was walking on the 1300 block of Southeast 23rd Place, near the victim's home, just before 4 a.m.
