Three teens went on a car burglary streak and struck out, deputies say. But they still are facing various felony charges.
Joseph McCloskey, 18, of the 1700 block of Knights Court, East Naples, Kian McDonald, 19, of the 500 block of Edan Court, Marco Island, and Cassandra Cooper, 17, 1700 block of Knights Court, North Naples were arrested Tuesday at the Walmart located at the 3400 block of U.S. 41 East.
According to arrest reports, the teens went on an auto-burglary spree, breaking into an estimated five vehicles. However, the teens not only were located and arrested but also came up empty-handed.
Deputies said one of victims, walked out of his home when he saw the teens attempting to steal his car's stereo system. He told deputies he watched them flee the scene in a dark colored car.
That same car was found parked outside of Walmart while deputies were patrolling the area, according to reports.
Deputies said they then canvassed the neighborhood where the car burglaries occurred and found two other vehicles that appeared to be tampered with but nothing had been stolen.
The three were then arrested on charges of attempted grand theft, burglary, illegal use of stolen credit cards, and petit theft.
Deputies said once at the jail, McCloskey and Cooper made full confessions to the crimes. Deputies said they found six Xanax pills hidden in Cooper's bra.
