A Golden Gate Estates man stole a pregnant pit bull and tried to sell the puppies through Facebook, deputies say.

Hector Carrion, 27, of the 1900 block of Everglades Boulevard South, was arrested Wednesday by Collier deputies at home.

Carrion is accused of stealing Trina, a family's pet pit bull-American bull dog mix.

According to an arrest report, the victim's told deputies there pregnant dog had been stolen from their home and was due to have puppies any minute.

The victims also told deputies they found a Facebook posting made by Carrion's son displaying their along with 11 puppies. The puppies were being sold for $450 each, according to reports.

When deputies met with Carrion, he told them that his friend who lived down the street asked him for help with the dogs delivery in exchange for two of the puppies.

According to reports, Carrion also told deputies that the dog only gave birth to eight puppies, three had died.

Trina and six of her puppies were returned to their owner, according to reports.

Carrion is facing a charge of grand theft.
