TAMPA — Gov. Rick Scott took time off from carrying luggage, working the ticket counter and other airport tasks to meet a familiar traveler who had just jetted in from Washington, D.C.
President Barack Obama found Scott waiting for him Friday when he emerged from Air Force One after it landed at Tampa International Airport.
They shook hands and chatted briefly. The president then toured Tampa's seaport before continuing on to a Latin American summit in Colombia.
Scott went back to his eighth "Let's Get to Work! Day." It's an idea borrowed from former Gov. and ex-U.S. Sen. Bob Graham.
Scott said working at the airport helped him identify ways to grow Florida's tourism industry.
