College tennis: Lely grad Embree wins SEC honors for Gators

Lely graduate Lauren Embree was named the Southeastern Conference's Player of the Week for the second time this season.

The Gator junior won both of her singles and doubles matches in UF’s only dual match last week, as she helped the Gators (18-1) capture the SEC Regular Season Championship outright.

The Marco Island native finished the season a perfect 10-0 in the conference and is now 29-0 in her college career.

Embree and doubles partner Joanna Mather earned their 16th consecutive win, a run tied for the seventh longest in program history.
