NAPLES — The Marco Island Triathlon will be Sunday, Oct. 7.
The event begins at 8 a.m. and features a quarter-mile swim, 15-mile bike and 3.1-mile run. It takes place at the Marco Island Marriott Resort and Spa, 400 S. Collier Blvd.
The entry fee is $80 for USA Triathlon members and $95 for USA Triathlon non-members. The fee for USAT teams is $140 and $175 for non-members.
5K is Sept. 1: The Pilot Club of Naples/John Clay 5K will be Saturday, Sept. 1.
The 5K begins at 7:30 a.m., as does a 2K walk, at Lowdermilk Park. A children’s fun run will be at 8:30 a.m.
Awards will be given to male and female overall and masters winners and the top three finishers in age groups. The cost for the adult 5K run is $15 through Aug. 26, $20 Aug. 27 to Aug. 31 and $25 on race day. The fee for the student (under 18) 5K run is $10, and the cost for the walk is $10. Call 434-9786.
Relay race in October: The Gulf to Gulf 80 Mile Relay Race will be Oct. 20 at Cambier Park in Naples.
The 6 a.m. Saturday race features 30 six-person teams running from the park to Fort Myers Beach with a turnaround at the Sanibel Causeway.
An individual 50K race also starts at 6 a.m. and goes the same route.
Registration costs $50 per person through Aug. 10, $70 per person from Aug. 11 to Oct. 11 and $90 per person Oct. 12 to Oct. 18. There is no race day registration.

RedSnook event in November: The Conservancy of Southwest Florida 2012 RedSnook Catch and Release Charity Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 2-4.
The tournament is open to all amateur anglers. Awards will be given to the top teams in each division, largest fish, grand slam, corporate team and top female angler. Divisions are guided and unguided bait, guided and unguided artificial and fly fishing.
Angler Roland Martin, the television host of “Fishing with Roland Martin,” will serve as the founding honorary chairman. Anglers will launch from locations in Naples, Goodland and Everglades City, with competition scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 3 and 4. The awards ceremony is at 6 p.m. Nov. 4, at Northern Trust, 4001 Tamiami Trail N.
