Teen drowns near Florida Panhandle fishing bridge

PANAMA CITY — Authorities are investigating the drowning death of a 14-year-old boy near a Panama City bridge.

Lynn Haven police told the Panama City News Herald that they found the boy floating in water a few feet from the shoreline Wednesday morning.

Family members said the boy was fishing with them throughout the night and they had left him near the water's edge while they went to check crab traps.

An autopsy is scheduled.
