COLLIER COUNTY — The 25-year-old victim of a Saturday homicide in Golden Gate died of a gunshot wound, the Collier County Sheriff's Office confirmed Monday.
Ernest James Torres II was shot in the home in the 2200 block of 54th Terrace Southwest where he lived with his parents through a front bedroom window, witnesses told deputies.
The homicide was the second in Collier County last week and the fourth this year.
No arrests have been made in the shooting.
Torres was still breathing when the first units reached the scene. He stopped breathing as EMS arrived, a report stated.
Linda Torres and Ernest Torres, the victim's parents, were taken outside and the scene was secured. A foot search with dogs was conducted.
