Police: Woman crashes car into zoo pond, charged with DUI

An East Naples woman probably wishes someone filled in the Naples Zoo lily pond on Goodlette-Frank Road.

Early Sunday, according to Naples Police, Shannon Kathleen Bailey, 37, crashed her car halfway into the zoo's pond. She was taken to the NCH Downtown Naples Hospital for evaluation, where she refused field sobriety and blood tests.

After being evaluated, Bailey, of the 9100 block of Chula Vista Street, was taken to the Naples Jail Center and charged with DUI. She was released Sunday after posting $1,000 bond.
