NAPLES — The Fort Myers/Naples team will be playing in the Southeast Regional of PGA Junior League Golf on Saturday and Sunday at Eagle Ridge Golf Club near Ocala.
The team will compete along with others from Tampa, Boca Raton, and Macon, Ga., for a spot in the national championship, which is Sept. 14-16 at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Lemont, Ill.
Tom O'Brien of the Rick Smith Golf Academy at Tiburon Golf Club is the Fort Myers/Naples team captain. Austin Schultz and Josh Pisarri shared the Senior Male Players of the Year, and Kaitlyn Cross was named Female Player of the Year. Stephanie Carlozzi received the Senior Sportsmanship Award, and Sean Cleland was the recipient of the Senior Respect for the Game Award. Anna-Marie Kuenzle was the Female Player of the Year, and Pisarri was the Male Player of the Year.

Southeastern Women's Team Matches: Naples' Mary Jane Hiestand, a Hideout Golf Club member, and Lynda Case of Fort Myers are part of the 12-member Florida team competing in the inaugural event against teams from Georgia and Alabama at the Country Club of Ocala on Monday and Tuesday.
The event, which is played in a Ryder Cup-style format, replaces the annual Florida-Georgia Matches.
Last week, Hiestand won the second annual GAM Senior Women's Four-Ball in her native Michigan. Hiestand and teammate Kathy Minnich defended their title, shooting 69-72/141 to win by two strokes.
Hiestand and Diane Lang were fourth in the Florida State Women's Four-Ball Stroke Play at Lake Jovita. Hiestand and Lang shot 72-70/142. Case and Jean Raymond tied for fifth at 144.
Charity Classic Inter-Club Challenge: The sixth annual tournament on April 30 at Old Collier Golf Club raised $150,000 for the Immokalee Foundation.
Skip Hildebrand, John Costigan, John Riess and Jeff Williams, along with pro Rob Anderson from Mediterra won the men's title. Carrie Scannell, Rene Zona, Eileen Golden and Jane Dennis, along with pro Chris Rockwell of Old Collier won the women's crown.
